Teak Care
Teak (Tectona Grandis) is a timber unmatched for its combination of rich colour, exceptional strength, durability and low maintenance. Teak Furniture is a high quality possession that is designed and created to last a lifetime. It is impervious to rain, snow, frost or sunlight and needs no paint or preservatives for general use.
Teak is an extremely dense wood with a very high oil content. Unlike other woods, it is possible to leave teak untreated allowing it to mellow to an elegant silvery grey. All that is required is an occasional scrub with warm soapy water to remove any surface dirt. Alternatively, teak oil can be applied to your new garden furniture which will prevent the silvering process and darken the untreated teak colour. it is important to follow guidelines from the oil supplier regarding the application of the oil. Teak Oil and Teak Cleaner are readily available from DIY stores.
